Everyone needs to register at texasprisonphone, even if Securus worked at your LOs county jail. The wall phone and tablet phone will not be able to call you if you are not approved on texas prison phone.

Your LO needs to have their intake completed, or be on the last step of intake in order to get their voice recorded. Once that is done, the phone call system will recognize their voice and both the wall phone and tablet calls will start working for them.

They can call from the wall phones or their tablets. People report it is 30-120 days from the time they leave county to the time they get a phone call. The intake process is long.

Don’t do a “3 way” where your LO calls you and you add one more person to the call. You both will be in trouble and you will both lose privileges.

If phone or video calls drop, it could be someone suspects you are doing a 3-way, or they have detected profanity.

Securus glitches quite a bit. I had a call where they said all calls are terminated and i thought i had done something wrong, but everyone had that.

Sometimes the guards will cut the phones when a serious event happens and they put the inmates on lockdown and terminate the phones.

Phones are available 5am to midnight (however, your LO may have racked up before then.)
